SIMULATION FELLOWSHIP

Program Description

The NYP Brooklyn Methodist Medical Simulation Fellowship is a one year guided mentorship program that offers advanced training and expertise in the field of simulation-based healthcare education. The Simulation Fellowship is structured to provide a comprehensive overview of the concepts and application of medical simulation for the education of all healthcare professionals.  Prospective fellows will be an integral part of all simulation based administrative activities and research projects. Driving the curriculum is a focus on communication, error reduction, and patient safety. We encourage and advocate for our simulation fellows to become leaders in the field of simulation.

 

Goals and Objectives

  • History and theoretical applications of medical simulation and adult learning.

  • Utilize various types of medical simulation equipment and model development.

  • Mastery of medical simulation delivery to large group of diverse learners.

  • Research applications of medical simulation.

  • Develop skills relevant to Simulation Center operations and finances.

  • Maximizing return on investment with medical simulation.

 

Fellowship Type

  • One-year, non-ACGME

  • Emergency Medicine-based Fellowship

Clinical 

  • Single-site Emergency Department

  • New-York Presbyterian, Brooklyn Methodist

  • 18 hours per week in clinical shifts

Compensation

  • 126K Annual with Benefits and CME

Kent Li, MD

Dr. Li completed his medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and went on to complete residency in Emergency Medicine at New York Presbyterian Queens. His passion for teaching led him to finish his fellowship in medical simulation at New York Presbyterian Queens. Currently at BMH, he serves as simulation faculty and the simulation fellowship director. Outside of his scrubs, you will find Dr. Li running, biking, and eating a variety of pastries.
