Women in Emergency Medicine
Brooklyn Methodist has a Women in Emergency Medicine committee that is dedicated to promoting gender diversity in the field of emergency medicine, empowering women to excel in their careers, and improving access to quality healthcare for women.
Our close-knit community frequently plans events to enable female faculty to convene and discuss unique challenges and opportunities both personally and throughout the field of medicine. Through this network, valuable insights, encouragement, and career guidance are shared to help residents navigate their journey through residency and beyond.
As advocates for women in EM, we actively encourage and support initiatives that address important issues affecting women's health. Within our program, we take pride in having dedicated OB-GYN patient rooms, which are consistently utilized by women seeking care for reproductive health concerns. Our substantial volume of such patients presents us with a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on various aspects of women's reproductive health. Through fostering collaborative projects and facilitating the exchange of knowledge, we are committed to driving advancements in women's healthcare and make a lasting difference in the lives of women in need.
