Dr. Brenna Farmer
Chief

Dr. Farmer graduated from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and completed her post-graduate training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She completed her subspecialty training in Medical Toxicology at NYU Langone and NYC Health+ Hospitals Bellevue. Dr. Farmer is a nationally recognized medical toxicology expert and frequent keynote speaker on quality improvement, patient safety, and medication safety.

Dr. Theodore J. Gaeta
Program Director, Vice Chief of Education

Dr. Gaeta completed his medical training at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency in emergency medicine at Lincoln Hospital. He also received his Master of Public Health at Columbia University. In addition to serving as Clinical Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, Dr. Gaeta is the chairman of the Hospital Research Committee and Associate Director for Medical Education at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He is co-chair of the Institutional Review Board and is also Chairman of Emergency Medicine at St. George's University School of Medicine.

Dr. Annette Visconti

Dr. Michael Cabezon

Assistant Program Director

Dr. Visconti graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and completed her residency in emergency medicine at Mt. Sinai, where she served as Chief Resident. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Visconti is actively involved in weekly conferences and in developing the resident education curriculum. She also serves as the PGY-3 Class Director. Her extracurricular interests include reading, American history, fiction writing, science fiction, bird watching, swimming, and biking.

Dr. Cabezon graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed residency in emergency medicine at Lincoln Hospital. He serves as Simulation Director, coordinator of the Procedural Skills Curriculum, and is a Clinical Instructor at Weill Cornell Medical College. His extracurricular interests include tennis, judo, Star Trek, and BSG.

Dr. Lukasz Cygan
Assistant Program Director

Dr. Cygan received his medical degree from New York Institute Technology, and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Staten Island University Hospital. He serves as the PGY-1 Class Director. He is actively involved in didactic curriculum with the Emergency Medicine weekly conference schedule. He prides himself on bedside teaching during each and every clinical shift. His particular interests include pulmonary embolism, workup and management of dizzy patients in the ED, communication and medical education. His outside interests are his family, former Division III basketball coach, the Mets, the Jets and spending time with his family..

Dr. Michael Zimmerman
Assistant Program Director

Dr. Zimmerman received his medical degree from Georgetown University, completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Illinois, and came to NY for his ultrasound fellowship at Northwell (formerly North Shore University). He serves as the PGY-2 Class Director and organizes our global curriculum for conference. His hobbies include sailing, mountain biking, skiing, model trains, and spending time with his family.
