CLINICAL ROTATIONS

The majority of rotations are at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, with some off-site rotations at Brookdale Hospital, New York City Poison Control, and at ophthalmology and orthopedics outpatient clinics in Brooklyn.

During emergency medicine rotations, residents are responsible for direct patient care under the supervision of the academic faculty of the Department of Emergency Medicine. Residents have progressive, graduated responsibilities for patient management, including resuscitations, and junior resident education, as well as teaching rounds facilitation throughout the three-year program.

Hours and shift responsibilities are as follows*:

Shift times are 8AM-8PM, 8PM-8AM, 10AM-10PM, & 12 PM-12AM (peds during intern year), 11AM-9PM (Trauma)

  • PGY-1: 18 clinical shifts.

  • PGY-2: 17 clinical shifts.
